A Historical Palace with only 24 rooms, once home of a known art collector (Ernesta Stern), enhanced by art work of all ages and rich with ancient historical memories. The structure is built with maximum accuracy to every little detail, enriched with antiquities, sculpture and valuable furniture. The rooms are mostly facing the Grand Canal, some other are on the “ Rio del Malpaga” and on the garden.

The Breakfast and Dinner, during the good season, are served on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. A magical awakening and end of the evening! The breakfast at Palazzo stern is served à la carte.
You can also dine on the unique and exclusive panoramic terrace with the “Prete Rosso” Restaurant at Locanda Vivaldi (sister hotel managed by the same family). The view from the terrace is magnificent!!! From the columns of Piazza San Marco to the Dogana, from the island of Giudecca with the nearby islands of San Giorgio to the Lido of Venice.
Reservations for the restaurant are required, through the hotel.
Terraces of Locanda Vivaldi and Palazzo Stern are great locations to celebrate weddings, birthdays, gala dinners, toasts or any event type, according to different needs and budget, along with providing all the services that are necessary to make your event an occasion to remember.

The Hotel Santa Chiara is the only hotel in the historic center of Venice with private parking (valet parking). Guests can reserve parking on request and for a fee, including a one-way transfer by boat.
They can arrive at hotel Santa Chiara with their car and the staff will take care of everything, park the car, luggage’s and accompany the guests to the boat.

LOCATION
Located on the Grand Canal, in the Dorsoduro district, in a still very Venetian area full of local life and close enough to San Marco to be able to reach it in less than 10 minutes.

A few steps from the hotel there are many shops, restaurants and bars and museums, the closest is right next door: Ca’ Rezzonico! Others very close are Rialto with its market, Basilica dei Frari, Church and School of San Rocco, Accademia Museum, Peggy Guggenheim, Church of Salute and Punta della Dogana, Palazzo Grassi.

The property can be easily reached, from the airport, by private watertaxi which will bring you directly to the hotel dock in 20 min- The public shuttle service called Alilaguna until Ca’ Rezzonico (orange line) has a stop in front of the Hotel.

Vintage boat

The Panoramic Terrace on the penthouse of our sister location Hotel Locanda Vivaldi hosts an in-house restaurant only accessible to customers of the three hotels in our Brand. Surrounded by art

This historic hotel in Venice is a Moorish Palazzo which has been built during the 15th Century. Built by Malpaga Family (they will give their name to the Rio next to the building), it was originally a two floors building. During the first years on the 20th Century the building has been bought by the Stern Family, art collectors and traders. They rebuildt the whole palace (bigger, 4 floor in total) using old parts and materials of the previous one. Now, after 2 years of meticulous restoration, Palazzo Stern is magnificent.
