La Ferme Saint Siméon, a fully restored 17th-century Normandy farm, was used extensively by the Impressionist painters who were smitten by its shifting skies, rapidly changing light, and wild coastlines. Drawing on its unique heritage, the property invites guests to immerse themselves in their world.
More than a century after being frequented by impressionist painters seeking inspiration from the magic light of the Côte Fleurie, the Ferme Saint Siméon still seems to be nourished by tender nostalgia. Perched on the heights of Honfleur, this Normand-style building with 29 rooms is infused with the soul of yesteryear and delicately embraces modern refinement, peacefully overlooking the sea.
La Ferme Saint Siméon is celebrated for its bucolic surroundings and beautiful Seine estuary light. Monet and Courbet would come here and work on their colours, and Baudelaire would flee the melancholy of Paris in search of inspiration. The farm is close to the old harbour of Honfleur and the Eugène-Boudin Museum. “Oh, Saint Siméon”, exclaimed the painter Eugène Boudin in one of his journals. Indeed it is hard not to love the place, and even harder to leave it behind.
Experience timeless happiness in front of crackling fireplaces in the light of the estuary. Our Chef Matthieu Pouleur and his brigade work with a passionate team to serve you simple, mouth-watering cuisine that showcases the excellence of Normandy’s products from the land and the sea. To vary the pleasures, have lunch in the Boucane restaurant (housed in the historic thatched-roof building painted by Monet in his painting “La charette. Route sous la neige à Honfleur”).
The Pressoir, which houses the Spa, is undertaking complete refurbishment and the aquatic complex is not accessible for the moment. Patricia Verbecq, our Spa manager, winner of the France massage championship of 2019, and her team, welcome you in specially dedicated treatment rooms during renovations. Forgot your worries and let your body and spirit unwind! We’ve selected a collection of treatments Olivier Claire, and “Signature” care with organic Normandy apple for a unique experience.
Guests can stay in Monet’s bedroom or the room that once formed Corot’s workshop, pass time in the gardens watching the light on the Seine estuary, or step into the shoes of a painter by taking an art class. Nearby walks enable them to discover the area’s hidden corners. They can set off on foot from the hotel to explore the ancient port of Honfleur, discovering its artists and sailors. And a short car trip will allow them to gaze at Étretat’s cliffs, just as the Impressionists themselves once did.
